“Emerson Sunday: Celebrating the Arts”

Ralph Waldo Emerson considered art as a way for the artist to express their inner self, their “spirit,” and to share a deeper understanding of the world with others. He believed that there should be no strict separation between different art forms like painting, music, and poetry, as they all stem from the same creative impulse.

May 4 our congregation will be celebrating Emersonian Sunday which is an honoring of the arts in all it’s forms, music, visual arts, performing arts, culinary arts, textile arts, and more. There will be displays in the garden at Saint Andrews beginning at 11:00am, prior to the service.
