All Our Births and Deaths

Presenter: Dave MacMillian

Rites of passage signal a readiness to pass from one life stage to the next: baptisms, bar mitzvahs, graduations, weddings, preparing for death and finally the ultimate passage into death itself. Rites can also mark other passages: to conceive or to abort a child; to take one job or career or to leave them behind; to make a geographical move; to propose a marriage or a divorce; and many others. This morning we reflect on some of the approaching passages in our lives and how we might create rites of passage to mark them.
