LCUUF came together in 2006 in response to a local webboard posting by a long-time UU and resident of the Lake Chapala area, asking if there was interest in forming a local fellowship. Four UU’s met to form a fellowship and twelve people attended our first service.

For the first 11 years, we were lay-led, with members of the fellowship giving the weekly services. In August of 2017, we added a part-time minister, Rev. Matt Alspaugh. We offer a wide variety of services on various topics, presented by our members, outside guests, as well as Rev. Matt Alspaugh.

In 2024 we moved to share space at Saint Andrews Anglican Church.

We continue to attract people who are seeking a spiritual home, who may be diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but are aligned with our desire to make a difference for the good. Would love to have you join us and become part of our on-going search for truth and meaning!
